Language Birthday Party
features 45 minutes of sign
language storytelling and
music. The birthday boy or girl
takes center stage as the star of
a sign-filled story, and all the
guests will learn basic signs
through hands-on stories,
music, and movement
activities. Participants will also
learn how to sign the "Happy
Birthday" song in American
Sign Language.

Sign Language Birthday Party Themes:
Long Ago and Far Away on My Birthday
It's the prince or princess's birthday, and the whole kingdom is ready
to celebrate! Learn favorite fairy tale and birthday signs through fun
stories and more.
The Birthday Zoo
All the animals are waiting to celebrate! Take a trip to the zoo
through stories, songs, and more, and learn birthday and animal signs
along the way.
Kick! Pass! Run!: Birthday Fun!
Perfect for the pint-sized sports fanatic, this movement-filled
storytelling program teaches sports and birthday signs.
A Birthday Feast
Everyone loves food, and birthday food is the best! Sing a song, hear
a story, and share some signs about birthdays and favorite things to
eat!

Fees:
$130 per program plus travel expenses. Payment in the form of cash
or a check made out to Kathy MacMillan is expected upon program
completion.
Policies:
Cancellations: Programs cancelled with less than 72 hours (3 days)
notice for any reason will be billed in full including any applicable
travel expenses. For programs requiring air travel, programs
cancelled with less than 2 weeks (10 working days) notice for any
reason will be billed in full including any applicable travel expenses.
Acts of God: Payment for cancellation of programs due to natural
disasters or severely inclement weather conditions may be waived on
the condition that the program is rescheduled within 3 weeks.
Mileage: Round-trip mileage will be charged according to the current
IRS business mileage rate.
Early Arrival: Presenter will arrive at least 15 minutes prior to
program start time.
Audience: Stories By Hand Sign Language Birthday Parties are
appropriate for ages 3 and up. The maximum audience size is 30
children. For children ages 3 to 8, 1 adult should be present for every
5 children. For children ages 9 and up, 1 adult should be present for
every 15 children.
Performance space: A cleared "stage" area should provide enough
room for the presenter and up to 5 volunteers at a time. The audience
should have adequate space to stand during movement songs without
jostling others. Due to the visual nature of Stories by Hand programs,
every effort should be made to ensure that program space provides
adequate lighting and clear sightlines.
Collection Fees: Attorney’s fees and court costs will be added to the
balance due if necessary to collect.
Proceeding with contractual agreement implies acceptance of terms.
