Fee Calculation: An initial fee of $110 will be applied to all assignments. This
fee covers up to 2 hours. After the second hour, time will be computed in 30
minute increments rounded up. Assignments completed prior to the
scheduled completion time will be billed for the entire time originally
requested.
Cancellations: Assignments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice for any
reason or due to a no-show by any of the consumers (hearing or deaf) will be
billed for the total time scheduled including any applicable mileage.
Team Interpreters: For requests requiring more than 1 hour of continuous
interpreting, a team interpreter may be required.
Mileage: Round-trip mileage will be charged according to the current IRS
business mileage rate.
Early Arrival: Interpreter will be compensated for arrival at least 15 minutes
prior to the scheduled assignment to make the necessary preparation to
establish communication, receive any necessary briefings, etc.
Estimation of Duration of Appointment: Every effort should be made to
accurately estimate the duration of the assignment. For assignments
extending beyond 2 hours with one interpreter as requested, the rate to
extend beyond the 2 hours will be double, retroactive to the start time of the
contracted time for the entire duration of the assignment. Underestimates
may result in service suspension due to previous commitments. All time
reserved for assignments shall be considered the contractual duration of the
assignment.
Responsibility for Payment: Contracting agency is responsible for payment
regardless of whether a patient’s insurance pays for this charge or not.
Collection Fees: Attorney’s fees and court costs will be added to the balance
due if necessary to collect.
Proceeding with contractual agreement implies acceptance of terms.
