Stories By Hand presents
Little Hands Signing
American Sign Language fun for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the
grownups who love them

Why use sign language with your
little one?  Research shows that signing
with your young child can:
•reduce frustration for both you and
your child
•increase your child’s IQ
•stimulate language learning
•enhance bonding
•raise your child’s self-esteem

Little Hands Signing brings the magic of sign language to you and your
child through age-appropriate stories, songs, activities, and games,
along with tips and tricks for caregivers on using signs in everyday
activities.  Each theme-based class will introduce and reinforce signs
from a young child’s world.  Because our classes use American Sign
Language, you and your child can learn another language together, with
benefits to last a lifetime.  Best of all, it’s so much fun, you won’t even
realize you’re learning! Little Hands Signing classes are based on the
award-winning SIGN with your BABY® program by Dr. Joseph Garcia.
Presenter Kathy MacMillan is a certified member of the Sign2Me®
Presenters' Network.

"Kathy really engages preschool audiences well.  My child is an
extremely energetic 4.5 year old, and she really held his attention.
Learning the signs was such a tangible accomplishment for him that not
only was it fun, but he felt great about doing it and sharing it with
others.  We still use many of the signs we learned, and they are
particularly great for correcting him gently in public. (I often sign "sit
down" in restaurants).  Also, unlike many other "art activities" I see
given to preschoolers at library storytimes or the like, her projects
provide high quality enrichment/reinforcement of the material
presented." - Sara, a mom from Woodbine, MD
